Two Old Guys Astrogear
|
|
Two Old Guys Astrogear was created in 2007 by two amateur astronomers/astrophotographers
to design inexpensive but useful electronics for other amateur astronomers. Having both been
active in the hardware and software side of astronomy for several years, the
Two Old Guys are dedicated to provide a good cross-section of the 'fiddly bits' that
make an imager's life simpler. Being imagers ourselves, we knew what we either needed
or would like to have. |
|
Our first project was the TOGA Night Assistant. This ambitious unit was shown at StarFest 2008 and generally acclaimed but never made
it out to the world. The NA just couldn't be built to meet the price
point that we wanted but it DID give us some experience which we've put to good use in the following
offerings:

The TOGA LX-Guider/Focuser/Shutter [Learn more] |
ASTRONOMY
|

Now shipping is the TOGA LX-Guider/Focuser. This is an interface
between USB and a mount's ST-4 interface and uses the ubiquitous LX200 protocol including
pulse-guide. Two DC focus motors can be controlled and a well appointed intervalometer allows
our software to control your DSLR via the USB connection. The unit is powered by the USB and has a separate DC power input to
drive the focus motors AND a '12v option' port that can drive most DC accessories.

that dramatic storm shot again. Riding in a standard hot-shoe or on a separate tripod, the TOGA Lightning Detector
is a fast and efficient way to capture nature's light-shows.
